LPASS Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for design verification of the Low Power Audio Subsystem (LPASS). The role owns verification for one or more LPASS features, develops robust SV/UVM testbenches, debugs RTL/testbench issues, and works with cross-functional teams to ensure silicon quality for tape-out.

Position is part of the LPASS hardware team based in Bangalore contributing to Qualcomm audio solutions for mobile computing devices.

Experience Level

Entry-level - typically 1–2 years of VLSI industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification tasks and improving verification quality and efficiency.

  • Take DV ownership for one or more LPASS core features.
  • Design and implement robust, optimized SV/UVM testbenches for the DUT.
  • Develop and apply formal, simulation, and emulation-based verification methodologies.
  • Debug RTL and testbench issues to root cause using waveform and debug tools.
  • Collaborate with architecture, RTL, firmware, and bring-up teams to drive tape-out readiness.
  • Contribute process improvements to verification flows and testbench efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • 1–2 years of VLSI industry experience (minimum).
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience developing SV/UVM-based testbenches.
  • Experience debugging RTL/testbench issues using Verdi or similar tools.
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Perl and/or Python.
  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of UPF and low-power architecture.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field is specified.
