Lead Verification Engineer

Role Summary

As a Lead Verification Engineer at AMD, you will be integral to the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s graphics processor IP. Your work will ensure that the final design is free of bugs, contributing to the advancement of next-generation computing experiences.

Experience Level

The ideal candidate should possess 8+ years of professional experience in IP level ASIC verification, showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Collaborating with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to understand and verify new features.
• Creating detailed test plan documentation addressing interactions between features, hardware, firmware, and software drivers.
• Estimating time for writing tests and making necessary adjustments to the test environment.
• Building directed and random verification tests, as well as debugging test failures to identify root causes.
• Reviewing functional and code coverage metrics to adjust or add tests accordingly.

Requirements

Applicants should have a deep understanding of complex processor architectures, digital design, and verification. Skills in programming languages such as Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++ are essential, along with experience in using UVM testbenches and working in Linux and Windows environments.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
