Lead Validation Engineer Analog
NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Lead Validation Engineer — Analog
Role Summary
Lead the validation and characterization of analog and mixed-signal IPs for SoC/ASIC development. Work with design, board, and firmware teams to define test plans, perform silicon bring-up, and deliver validated IPs across PVT corners.
Own bench characterization methodology, develop automated test sequences, and provide hardware requirements and signal-integrity guidance for analog validation platforms.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8–10 years of experience in silicon validation of SoC and mixed-signal/digital ICs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on validation, lab automation, and technical leadership to deliver analog IP characterization results.
- Define and develop bench characterization methodologies for analog/mixed-signal IPs across PVT combinations.
- Perform design evaluation and bench characterization for analog IPs on devices under development; execute post-silicon validation and debug.
- Develop and maintain automated test code and frameworks to control measurement equipment and process characterization data.
- Lead silicon bring-up and integration of analog validation hardware platforms (analog boards, microcontroller-based setups).
- Specify hardware requirements, review schematics and PCB layouts, and address signal-integrity issues for validation testbeds.
- Plan validation activities, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross-functional deliverables to meet schedule targets.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience required for the role; preferred items listed separately.
- 8–10 years of experience in silicon validation of SoC / mixed-signal / digital ICs (hands-on lab and bring-up).
- Strong understanding of electrical circuit analysis, circuit design, test fundamentals, and debugging techniques.
- Proven experience using test & measurement equipment commonly used in analog validation.
- Experience automating analog characterization setups using Python, LabVIEW, and TestStand.
- Proficiency in C / Embedded C for firmware used in validation platforms.
- Ability to define HW requirements and assess PCB/schematic designs for signal integrity.
- Strong leadership, planning, and delivery skills; experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Experience with PVT characterization of ADCs, DACs, PLLs, oscillators, LDOs, low-power circuits, and I/O pads.
- Root-cause analysis and deep-debug exposure for new analog designs.
- Knowledge of multilayer board design, integration, and signal integrity topics.
- Understanding of differential signaling and transmission line theory.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics / Communication Engineering is required (as stated in the posting).
