Job Title

Lead System Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Technical lead for system-level hardware/software integration on embedded platforms. The role leads a system integration team to define integration strategy, coordinate cross-functional HW/SW work, and deliver validated SDKs and integrated products to customers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 6+ years of experience in embedded systems development and integration; automotive industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership of system integration, test strategy, and delivery coordination across hardware and software teams.

  • Lead system integration team activities and coordinate issue resolution across SW, HW, and validation teams.
  • Define and maintain integration and testing strategies for products and SDKs.
  • Drive software integration processes and continuous-integration/build improvements.
  • Automate manual operations and develop reusable tools to streamline integration tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for automotive-specific audits and quality reviews.
  • Track deliverables and collaborate with project managers to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software architects to understand system details and implement integration plans.
  • Work with configuration/build management teams to improve build and CI strategies.

Must-have:

  • Strong C programming skills for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M and A-series).
  • Bare-metal programming and experience with high-performance real-time systems (FPGA, emulators, silicon).
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (AUTOSAR OS, FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
  • Experience with inter-processor communication stacks and hardware/software interface debugging.
  • Electronics literacy: read schematics and troubleshoot hardware development boards.
  • Use of test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CAN analyzers, debuggers.
  • Traceability to system/software requirement specifications and familiarity with requirement management tools (DOORS9, DOORS-NG).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Git or Subversion.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices including CI/CD and experience improving tools/processes.
  • Problem-analysis methods (e.g., fishbone, 8D) and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing bootloaders and application software for automotive RADAR systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive functional safety concepts.
  • Additional programming languages: C++, Python, C#, Java.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architect or similar tools for software architecture design.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR and ASPICE processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering β€” or equivalent practical experience. (The posting also specifies 6+ years of relevant embedded-systems experience.)
