Lead System Debug Engineer - Server Validation
Role Summary
Technical lead for system- and silicon-level debug of AMD EPYC Server and AMD Instinct products within the post‑silicon validation organization. Drive debug strategy, lead complex root-cause analysis, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet product release milestones.

Senior — requires extensive industry experience; posting requests 15+ years of applicable experience.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate post-silicon and production debug activities to identify root causes, drive resolutions, and maintain program milestones.
- Lead silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation debug for system and SoC issues.
- Drive root-cause analysis and ensure timely, high-quality fixes and mitigations.
- Manage and track technical issues, risks, and priorities to un-gate program milestones.
- Publish debug program indicators and metrics to identify roadblocks and improve throughput.
- Manage executive and customer communications on program status, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop tools, scripts, and methodologies to automate and accelerate debug and triage.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (SoC/IP/FW/SW/BIOS/manufacturing) across global time zones.
- Contribute to technical program management and continuous improvement of debug processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.
- Extensive experience debugging OS, firmware, silicon, and hardware issues at platform/system level.
- Strong knowledge of x86 architecture, SoC design, memory subsystems, RAS, and power management.
- Familiarity with industry-standard buses and stacks such as PCIe and CXL.
- Experience with platform interactions: operating systems, device drivers, and system BIOS.
- Proven analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple workstreams.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills; experience managing technical communications with customers and executives.
- Experience in technical program management and leading technical initiatives.
- Self-starter able to drive tasks independently and work effectively in a global team.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; posting requests 15+ years of applicable experience.
