Job Title
Lead Software Engineer (Python API/agentic)
Role Summary
Lead the GUI and core workflow architecture for Quantus Insight, a high-performance parasitic extraction platform. Work with R&D leadership to design scalable, multi-threaded application infrastructure, Qt-based desktop UI components, and integrations that enable AI-assisted workflows.
This role focuses on solving large-scale data and performance challenges in a Linux desktop environment while architecting agentic AI interfaces for application automation.
Experience Level
Senior — experience guidance: 4–6 years of professional software development (4+ years; 5+ years expected with an advanced degree).
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize core engine, workflows, UI, and AI integration for a high-scale desktop EDA application.
- Design high-load dataflows and standardize how large datasets move between backend computation and platform workflows.
- Architect UI-agnostic core structures to optimize data throughput, memory usage, and compute-heavy cycles.
- Implement asynchronous multi-threading and parallel processing to separate heavy background processing from interactive UI threads.
- Compose and orchestrate system functionalities and APIs into AI-native, agentic workflows.
- Expose programmatic interfaces so LLMs can access application state and drive tool operations safely and deterministically.
- Ensure autonomous agent actions are reflected and synchronized in the Qt user interface in real time.
- Develop Qt Widgets-based GUI components (trees, tables, forms) optimized for lazy loading, paging, and low memory overhead.
- Profile and tune application and UI performance in Linux using tools such as GDB and Valgrind.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to succeed in this role.
-
Expert C++ (modern C++17 or newer) with solid STL usage and idiomatic design.
-
High-performance engineering: multi-threading, parallel programming, and data-structure optimization for large datasets.
-
Linux development: advanced debugging and profiling using GDB, Valgrind, and related tools.
-
Software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, design patterns, and full SDLC experience.
-
Python scripting for automation and tool integration.
-
Ability to profile and tune both backend and UI performance under heavy memory/CPU load.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with the Qt Framework and Qt Model/View components.
- Domain knowledge in EDA (parasitic extraction, layout connectivity, physical verification).
- Experience building or integrating agentic AI/LLM workflows or strong personal interest and experimentation with LLM APIs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also notes experience expectations tied to degree level (4+ years experience; typically 5+ years if holding an advanced degree).
