Role Summary

Senior R&D engineer responsible for developing a multi-threaded, distributed physical-synthesis core engine for the Innovus Implementation System. The role works within a global R&D team and interfaces with product engineering and technical sales to deliver engineering solutions and customer workarounds.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, implementation, and support of the physical synthesis engine:

• Design and implement multi-threaded and distributed software components for physical synthesis in Innovus.
• Develop, troubleshoot, debug, and optimize C/C++ code running on Linux for performance and scalability.
• Design and apply efficient data structures and algorithms for synthesis and timing-related problems.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams, product engineers, and technical sales to resolve customer issues and deliver engineering workarounds.
• Perform code reviews, diagnose defects, and contribute to testing and verification of the synthesis flow.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes, followed by preferred qualifications.

• Must-have: Strong C/C++ software development experience in a Linux environment.
• Must-have: Excellent problem-solving skills and strong command of data structures and algorithms.
• Must-have: Strong communication skills and willingness to work directly with customers.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Knowledge of physical synthesis algorithms, timing analysis, and multithreading.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Prior R&D experience on IC physical-design tools and familiarity with physical design flows for design closure.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with Tcl and other scripting languages.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is listed as the minimum; Ph.D. track is a plus.
