Lead Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain a multi-threaded, distributed physical synthesis core engine within the Innovus Implementation System. Work on R&D features and core algorithms used by commercial physical design flows.

Collaborate with a global R&D team and partner with product engineers and technical sales to deliver engineering solutions and customer workarounds.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design, implementation, and support of the physical synthesis core and related tooling.

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software for physical synthesis algorithms and engines.
• Implement and optimize multi-threaded and distributed components for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams to define interfaces and integrate components into Innovus.
• Work with product engineers and technical sales to diagnose customer issues and provide solutions or workarounds.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing to ensure quality and maintainability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes.

• Proven C/C++ software development experience in a Linux environment.
• Strong understanding and extensive use of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong written/verbal communication; comfortable working with customers.

Preferred (nice-to-have)

• Knowledge of physical synthesis algorithms, timing analysis, and multithreading.
• Prior R&D experience on IC physical-design tools and familiarity with physical-design flows.
• Hands-on experience using physical design tools for design closure.
• Experience with Tcl and other scripting languages.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is specified; Ph.D. track is a plus.
