Lead Software Engineer

Role Summary

Lead development of reusable simulation, geometry, and visualization software components on Windows and Linux. Work within a software engineering team to design APIs, implement features, and own technical solutions for product components used across multiple products.

Motivated engineers who enjoy solving hard problems in simulation and CAD-related tooling will fit this role.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of relevant software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecture, implementation, testing, and delivery of reusable software components and related automation.

• Design and develop reusable components for geometry, visualization, and simulation.
• Architect APIs and ensure components are reusable across products.
• Create and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases (unit and integration).
• Use CI/CD, configuration management, build systems, and debuggers to support development and releases.
• Develop and maintain release and build automation (e.g., Azure Git Pipelines).
• Take technical ownership of projects and deliver high-quality components.
• Follow coding standards and development processes; mentor peers as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role; nice-to-have items follow.

• Must-have: 7+ years of software development experience with C/C++ and Python; exposure to client-server programming.
• Working knowledge of C# or Java and multithreading/concurrency programming.
• Experience developing on both Windows and Linux platforms.
• Understanding of software component architecture and API design for reusable software.
• Experience with test frameworks such as GoogleTest or PyTest.
• Experience with release and build automation pipelines (Azure Git Pipelines or similar).
• Strong object-oriented design, build systems, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and maintain high quality standards.
• Nice-to-have: Domain expertise in CAD/CAM/CAE, low-level geometry/visualization development, and exposure to AI-assisted coding tools.

Education Requirements

BE / BTech / ME / MTech in Computer Science, Mechanical, Structural engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
