Lead Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain electronic design automation (EDA) software components, with a focus on circuit simulation and analysis flows. Work on simulation engines, characterization, and analysis tooling used for semiconductor design.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver performant, production-quality C/C++ software on Linux platforms.

Experience Level

Senior — Lead level. Candidates should have at least 2+ years of experience developing EDA software; senior/lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and maintenance of simulation and analysis software and supporting flows.

• Design and implement features in C/C++ for simulation and analysis tools.
• Develop and maintain SPICE or SPICE-like circuit simulation engines and related tooling.
• Create and maintain TCL scripts and Linux/Unix development workflows.
• Implement and improve flows for library characterization, static timing analysis, power analysis, and signal integrity.
• Debug performance and correctness issues; profile and optimize code.
• Work with product teams and customers to define requirements and validate results.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to be productive in this role.

• Proficient in C and C++ development.
• Experience developing on Linux/Unix environments and working with TCL for automation.
• Experience with SPICE or SPICE-like circuit simulation.
• Good understanding of library characterization, IP design flows, static timing analysis (STA), power analysis, and signal integrity (SI) analysis.
• Practical EDA software development experience (2+ years as indicated).

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
• Familiarity with Verilog and VHDL.
• Experience with performance optimization and parallel algorithms for simulation.

Education Requirements

Minimum: MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics. Preferred: Ph.D. in the same fields. The posting indicates a minimum of ~2 years of related experience and a preferred Ph.D. with ~3–5 years.
