Job Title

Lead Silicon Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the front-end design and integration team within the Radeon Technologies Group to implement and verify silicon testability features and support first-pass silicon success.

The role interfaces with architecture, IP design, physical design, and product engineering teams and includes pre- and post-silicon activities focused on DFT and test validation.

Experience Level

Senior (Lead level). No explicit years-of-experience specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities span design-for-test implementation, verification, and post-silicon support to ensure successful bring-up and yield learning.

  • Implement and verify DFT architecture and testability features.
  • Perform scan insertion and generate ATPG patterns.
  • Verify ATPG patterns using gate-level simulation.
  • Analyze test coverage and test cost reduction opportunities.
  • Provide post-silicon support for bring-up and yield improvement.
  • Collaborate with architecture, IP, physical design, and product teams to achieve first-pass silicon success.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required or strongly desired for this role.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience implementing and verifying DFT architectures and features, including scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation.
  • Must-have: Experience verifying ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation and performing test coverage analysis.
  • Must-have: Post-silicon bring-up and yield-improvement support experience.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with Verilog RTL and scripting (Perl, Shell).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Mentor TestKompress and/or Synopsys Tetramax/DFTMAX.
  • Experience with VCS simulation tool.
  • Familiarity with DFT standards and techniques such as IEEE1500, JTAG 1149.x, and memory BIST.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
