Lead Product Engineer, Global MPE

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for transitioning semiconductor products from design completion to high-volume manufacturing and providing sustained production support. Acts as the primary technical interface across Design, Process, Test, Reliability, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust product performance, high yield, and cost efficiency.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Product, Test, or Manufacturing Engineering within the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Lead New Product Introduction (NPI), support high-volume production, and drive yield, quality, and cost improvements across the product lifecycle.

• Manage engineering activities for NPI and transfer from design to in-house or outsourced manufacturing.
• Define and validate product characterization plans; perform initial yield analysis and drive early-stage yield improvement.
• Oversee qualification activities and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
• Provide expert production support; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for failures and yield excursions.
• Coordinate with foundries, assembly, and test partners to diagnose and resolve product-related issues.
• Manage disposition decisions for non-conforming material to minimize production impact.
• Develop and sustain process improvements and engineering changes to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Monitor product performance metrics and lead continuous improvement projects throughout the product lifecycle.
• Communicate technical findings and project status to cross-functional teams and senior management.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience for immediate contribution.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering in the semiconductor industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing NPI from design transfer to high-volume production.
• Proven track record resolving complex product issues, yield detractors, and manufacturing problems.
• Experience driving process improvements and engineering changes to reduce cost and increase yield.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., JMP, Minitab, SPC, DOE, FMEA, MSA).
• Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and test program development/debug.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, product datasheets, and failure analysis reports.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and technical communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Familiarity with quality and reliability standards (e.g., AEC-Q100) is mentioned.
