Lead Product Engineer
Cadence Design SystemsJob Title
Lead Product Engineer
Role Summary
Work with R&D to drive static timing analysis (STA), timing signoff, and engineering change orders (ECO) for advanced SoCs using Tempus/Certus and related signoff tools. Focus on advanced-node enablement (5nmβ2nm), PPA optimization, and automation of timing workflows while collaborating with place-and-route, CAD, and foundry teams.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 4β6 years of relevant experience in STA and timing closure; role carries lead-level responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Accountable for timing signoff, ECO implementation, and improving signoff accuracy and PPA.
- Perform static timing analysis across MMMC scenarios for block and full-chip levels.
- Debug setup/hold violations, signal integrity, and variation-related timing issues.
- Drive timing closure using PBA/GBA and advanced derating techniques.
- Implement physical-aware timing ECOs and optimize performance, power, and area.
- Perform STA vs SPICE correlation to improve signoff accuracy.
- Support foundry enablement and technology node bring-up (5nm, 3nm, 2nm).
- Collaborate with P&R, CAD, and foundry teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
- Develop automation for timing workflows using Tcl and Python and integrate CLI-based infrastructure.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant behavioral competencies; preferred items listed separately.
- Must: Hands-on STA experience with PrimeTime and Tempus.
- Must: Practical experience with MMMC methodologies, OCV/AOCV/SOCV, and LVF.
- Must: Proven ability to debug timing issues and drive closure in large SoC environments.
- Must: Scripting/automation skills in Python and/or Tcl for timing flows.
- Preferred: SPICE simulation and STA vs SPICE correlation experience.
- Preferred: Experience with advanced process nodes and foundry interactions.
- Preferred: Basic understanding of AI/LLM concepts and interest in intelligent workflow automation.
- Behavioral: Adaptability, continuous learning, collaboration, and proactive problem solving.
Education Requirements
B.Tech, M.Tech, or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (as listed in the posting).
