Lead Product Engineer

Role Summary

Lead technical customer engagements for Cadence SERDES and mixed-signal IP, owning pre-sales integration, pre-silicon integration, and post-silicon bring-up support. Work with global R&D and customer teams to resolve subsystem issues and ensure successful IP deployment.

Member of an IP team focused on high-performance interfaces (UCIe, PCIe, USB, DPHY, Ethernet PHY). Strong cross-team coordination and customer-facing ownership are required.

Responsibilities

Primary technical and customer-facing responsibilities.

• Support integration and customization of Cadence SERDES IP subsystems for customer SOCs and boards.
• Analyze and resolve complex subsystem application or implementation issues; provide technical guidance to customers.
• Support PHY and controller SOC integration reviews and respond to integration questions.
• Perform RTL and gate-level simulations to verify functionality; assist customers with gate-level simulations and timing closure.
• Contribute to customer documentation, integration checklists, and SI/PI reviews for board/package implementation.
• Support post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and deployment activities; provide timely status updates to customers.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, analytics, and customer deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, plus preferred capabilities. Education and degree-specific experience are listed separately under Education Requirements.

• Experience with interface and PHY IP: UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, 112G, or similar high-speed interfaces.
• Verilog RTL design and gate-level verification experience.
• Synthesis and STA experience; back-end experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry-standard DFT flows and test methodologies.
• Familiarity with package and board design; ability to read schematics and participate in SI/PI reviews.
• Knowledge of circuits such as PLLs, Tx/Rx equalizers, ADCs and concepts of jitter, noise, and other non-idealities.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and experience with case management systems (e.g., SFDC, Jira).
• Ability to prioritize cases, anticipate escalations, manage technical reviews, and coordinate subject-matter experts.
• Customer-oriented: proactive, collaborative, able to manage resources across teams and drive timely case closure.
• Nice-to-have: experience with memory/communication interface IP (DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, HBM), analog/mixed-signal practices, and AI tools for rapid prototyping.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 5 years related experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years related experience.
