Lead Product Engineer

Role Summary

Position in the Hardware Emulation Product Engineering team within the Verification Business Unit. Responsible for optimizing emulation performance for customer SoC verification flows and enabling product and performance improvements across engineering and customer-facing teams.

Work focuses on performance characterization, benchmarking, customer issue investigation, and cross-functional collaboration to increase customer productivity and satisfaction.

Experience Level

Senior. Company guidance links experience to education: Bachelor's +4 years or Master's +2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include improving emulation performance, diagnosing customer issues, and delivering data-driven product improvements.

• Analyze customer requirements and use cases to define emulation performance goals.
• Characterize and benchmark compile and runtime performance at scale for complex SoC verification environments.
• Investigate customer-reported challenges, perform root-cause analysis, and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Design and run targeted experiments to validate performance improvements.
• Gather, analyze, and publish key performance metrics to support product decisions.
• Create technical collateral and documentation for product features and flows.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D, Product Validation, and Customer Success to move solutions from concept to deployment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies; nice-to-have items noted.

• Must: Hands-on experience in design or verification using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Must: Practical emulation or FPGA prototyping experience.
• Must: Strong understanding of RTL design and verification methodologies.
• Must: Experience with performance characterization, benchmarking, profiling, and root-cause analysis techniques.
• Must: Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Must: Strong analytical, debugging, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must: Ability to work effectively across globally distributed cross-functional teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering efficiency.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field. Hiring guidance: Bachelor's + 4 years of related experience, or Master's + 2 years of related experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
