Lead MTS Analog Engineer
RambusJob Title
Lead MTS Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Lead analog/mixed-signal circuit design for Rambus memory interface chips within the Bangalore engineering team. Report to Senior Manager of Engineering and own analog block- and chip-level designs from concept through production.
Drive architecture, simulation, floorplan collaboration, and post-silicon validation while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with layout, verification and customer teams.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience in CMOS analog/mixed-signal circuit design.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include technical leadership of analog/Mixed-Signal design and delivery.
- Own analog/mixed-signal designs at chip and/or block level.
- Define architectures to meet competitive product specifications.
- Design, simulate and characterize high-performance/high-speed circuits (e.g., transmitter, receiver with CTLE/DFE, LDO, PLL, DLL, PI).
- Develop high-level models for tradeoff analysis and behavioral models for verification.
- Create floorplans and work with layout to validate post-extraction performance.
- Document analysis/simulations to demonstrate electrical and timing objectives and support pre-silicon verification flows.
- Lead post-silicon validation, debug and collaborate with customers.
- Mentor and manage junior team members and promote cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and characterizing high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits and IP for silicon products.
- Practical knowledge of design tradeoffs, simulation methodologies and pre-/post-silicon validation flows.
- Experience with transmitter/receiver design, LDOs, PLLs/DLLs and power/PI circuit techniques.
- Ability to create behavioral/high-level models and participate in verification (Verilog/Verilog-A experience desirable).
- Strong written and verbal communication; experience working in cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of high-speed chip-to-chip interfaces (memory PHY, SerDes).
- Scripting and modeling experience (e.g., Verilog-A, automation scripts).
Education Requirements
Master's degree required. The posting specifies 8+ years of experience in CMOS analog/mixed-signal circuit design. No additional degrees, fields of study, certifications, or equivalent-experience language were specified.
