Job Title

Lead Layout Designer

Role Summary

Senior technical lead responsible for complex integrated-circuit (IC) layout work. Owns architecture-level layout decisions, leads multi-disciplinary projects, and establishes layout methodologies to improve productivity and manufacturability.

Senior β€” typically 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead complex IC layout projects from concept through tape-out.
  • Make architecture-level layout decisions that shape product development.
  • Develop and standardize layout methodologies and best practices.
  • Perform advanced process evaluations and optimize designs for manufacturability and yield.
  • Mentor and act as the primary technical resource for junior layout engineers.
  • Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams to deliver technical objectives.

Requirements

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated technical leadership in IC layout and architecture.
  • Expert-level IC layout design skills and deep process evaluation experience.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects end-to-end.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills across organizations.
  • Experience creating and implementing process and methodology improvements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: 7+ years of relevant experience. No specific certifications mandated.
