Job Title
Lead Engineer - SoC Design Verification
Role Summary
Hands-on senior verification engineer responsible for SoC and IP level verification for ARM-based microcontroller SoCs. Work with product architects, RTL designers, and verification teams to define and execute verification plans, debug issues across RTL/netlist/emulation platforms, and drive closure to tape-out quality.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5–12 years of SoC/IP verification experience (posting also references 6+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building verification environments, executing verification plans, and mentoring team members.
- Develop and maintain SoC- and IP-level verification suites with defined coverage goals.
- Implement and run UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, constrained-random stimulus, assertions, and coverage-driven tests.
- Plan and execute RTL, power-aware (UPF), gate-level, FPGA and emulation regressions; collect and analyze functional and code coverage.
- Debug design issues, collaborate with architects and RTL designers to resolve bugs and achieve sign-off.
- Drive DV closure across diverse IPs and subsystems and improve flows for reuse and efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior verification engineers.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have and desirable skills for the role.
-
Must-have: 5+ years in SoC/IP verification with experience in successful tape-outs; strong SystemVerilog/Verilog and UVM experience; experience with assertions (SVA) and functional coverage; familiarity with EDA simulators (e.g., Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium); experience verifying ARM-based microcontroller designs; C-based DV experience.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power verification (UPF), gate-level and power-aware simulations, emulation/FPGAs, verification of interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, CAN, eSPI), Flash memory and security IPs, and common analog IPs in microcontroller SoCs (ADC, DAC, PLLs).
-
Soft skills: Strong communication, team collaboration, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Microelectronics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering (as listed in the posting).
