Job Title

Lead Engineer, Product Development Engineering

Role Summary

Lead development of high-purity, high-precision MicroEnvironments and photomask handling systems from concept through production launch. Work across mechanical design, simulation, manufacturing, suppliers, and global teams to translate requirements into robust, manufacturable products.

Experience Level

Senior - requires substantial prior responsibility and technical leadership. Minimum experience guidance: 8+ years of hands-on product design and development.

Responsibilities

The role combines hands-on design, analysis, prototyping, and program leadership to deliver production-ready products.

  • Lead design and development of metal-based photomask handling systems and related product enhancements.
  • Develop, build, test, and validate prototypes under realistic conditions; iterate designs from test data.
  • Perform engineering analyses (FEA, CFD, Moldflow) to optimize designs.
  • Apply DFM principles for precision machining and plastic molding to ensure manufacturability and quality.
  • Drive products through the full development lifecycle to production launch, managing timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage engineering and manufacturing change-control processes and support DFMEA / PFMEA activities.
  • Conduct structured root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for design and manufacturing issues.
  • Coordinate with simulation, manufacturing, suppliers, and international stakeholders; prepare technical reports and presentations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform effectively in this role.

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on product design and development experience (excluding degree requirement listed below).
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, physics understanding, and material science application.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools, specifically SolidWorks and Creo.
  • Experience with Design FMEA and Process FMEA and structured root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with precision machining and design for manufacturability.
  • Proven track record taking products from concept through development, validation, and production launch.
  • Project-management capabilities: planning, Gantt charts, timeline and milestone management.
  • Experience managing engineering change-control processes and working in structured product-development environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions and global teams.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to shifting priorities, and drive projects to completion.

Nice-to-have:

  • Semiconductor industry experience and familiarity with semiconductor customer requirements.
  • Experience with high-purity or contamination-sensitive products and photomask handling.
  • Experience performing or applying FEA, CFD, and Moldflow analyses for design optimization.
  • Experience with both precision metal machining and plastic molding.
  • Familiarity with Accolade or comparable structured product-development/project-management systems.
  • Proven experience collaborating with international teams, particularly in Asia.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required. The posting also specifies a minimum of 8 years of hands-on product design and development experience.
