Lead Designer, Layout

Role Summary

Senior IC layout lead in the Advanced Converters Group responsible for solving the most complex layout challenges, defining architecture-level layout decisions, and improving layout methodologies across the organization.

Serves as a technical lead and mentor, driving cross-functional design quality and delivery for high-impact mixed-signal products.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of layout projects, mentoring, and process improvement.

  • Lead complex IC layout projects from concept to tapeout and review critical architecture decisions.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance and act as the primary resource for less experienced engineers.
  • Develop and standardize layout methodologies and best practices to improve team productivity and quality.
  • Perform advanced process evaluations and layout optimizations to meet performance and manufacturability targets.
  • Coordinate across teams and functions to influence design schedules and technical direction.
  • Mentor and train junior layout designers and review their work to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Expert-level proficiency in IC layout and architecture design for analog/mixed-signal converters.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership on complex projects and ability to make architecture-level tradeoffs.

  • Strong mentoring skills and experience leading or coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of developing and implementing layout methodologies and process innovations.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
