Job Title

Lead Design Engineer - Functional Validation

Role Summary

Senior hardware validation engineer responsible for functional validation of Automotive MCU products across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages. Ensure functionality, performance, stress tolerance and stability through comprehensive validation plans and automated test infrastructure.

Work within a cross-functional team—collaborating with design, DV, analog and firmware engineers—to identify, debug and close functional issues on silicon.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of experience in silicon validation or equivalent engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing validation activities, developing tests and automation, and coordinating cross-team debug.

  • Define and drive detailed validation plans and methodologies to achieve required functional coverage.
  • Develop test cases, test environments and automation scripts (Python) for pre- and post-silicon validation.
  • Use hardware and software tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traffic generators/analyzers) for validation and debugging.
  • Collaborate with design, DV, analog and firmware teams to root-cause and resolve functional issues.
  • Document test plans, results and validation coverage reports.
  • Create scripts and tools to automate tests, diagnostics collection and reporting.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience for the role.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in silicon validation, including SOCs and mixed-signal/digital ICs.
  • Experience debugging interfaces such as communication peripherals, memory interfaces and system-level validation.
  • Strong scripting skills and experience with Python-based test automation.
  • Experience with pre-silicon platforms and C programming.
  • Familiarity with HW/SW debug tools: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traffic generators/analyzers.
  • Experience developing automation, web-based tools or scripts for validation and reporting.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose and fix silicon issues.

Education Requirements

B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Electronics or Computer Engineering (or equivalent technical degree) is specified in the posting.
