Senior - typically 9+ years of experience in ASIC physical design, hierarchical physical design strategies, and deep sub-micron technology issues.
Responsibilities
The engineer will execute and lead physical design implementation and related methodology work.
- Perform physical implementation: floorplanning, power grid design, placement and routing, clock tree synthesis.
- Drive timing closure, static timing analysis, and timing signoff.
- Perform power and signal integrity signoff, including EM/IR analysis and IR-drop mitigation.
- Conduct physical verification (DRC/LVS/Antenna) and manufacturing checks (DFM, P&R closure).
- Analyze and mitigate crosstalk, data skew, and duty-cycle issues.
- Participate in or lead development of next-generation physical design methodologies and flows.
- Collaborate closely with RTL design teams to ensure successful integration and tapeouts.
Requirements
Required skills and attributes for success in this role.
- 9+ years of experience with ASIC design flow and hierarchical physical design strategies.
- Deep knowledge of low-power design techniques, DFT, and static timing analysis/closure.
- Experience with power/signoff analysis (EM/IR-drop), crosstalk analysis, and formal/physical verification.
- Proven hands-on ability across all design stages, with capability to verify, test, and characterize designs.
