Lead Design Engineer
Role Summary
Serve as the technical lead supporting PCIe/CXL controller integration and verification for SoC customers. Provide pre- and post-silicon support, coordinate with R&D, field application engineers, and internal RTL/physical design teams to ensure successful integration and bring-up.
Work involves hands-on RTL simulation, debugging, and acting as the customer technical interface.
Experience Level
Mid-level. 4–8 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as technical interface for customers and support pre- and post-silicon SoC teams during PCIe controller integration and bring-up.
- Perform RTL simulation and functional verification to validate controller functionality.
- Collaborate with PCIe R&D, field application engineers, physical design, and RTL teams to resolve issues and align on architecture.
- Provide customer feedback and competitive analysis to the PCIe team.
- Support core integration and verification at SoC level and troubleshoot system-level issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of PCIe and AMBA protocols.
- Hands-on design and verification experience with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB).
- Hands-on experience in PCIe (Gen5/Gen6) and CXL controller design and functional verification.
- Experience with PCIe/UCIe/CXL core integration and SoC-level verification.
- Familiarity with high-speed SerDes PIPE interfaces, Lint/CDC checks, and synthesis flows.
- Experience using Cadence and other major IC implementation, design, and verification tools.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience supporting customers and working closely with physical design teams on chip architecture and hierarchy.
Education Requirements
M.S. or B.Tech in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering (or similar degree).
