Lead Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead analog/mixed-signal design engineer on a Die-to-Die product development team focused on high-speed D2D and SERDES products. The role drives circuit design from specification through verification and collaborates with layout, architecture, and global engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum of 5 years of CMOS design experience (preferably in CMOS SERDES or high-speed I/O IC design).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include end-to-end design and verification of high-speed analog/mixed-signal IC blocks and coordination with cross-functional teams.

• Design high-speed D2D and SERDES products at industry standard data rates on leading-edge process nodes (example: 3nm FinFET CMOS).
• Develop analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks from initial concept and specification through final verification to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate closely with layout design engineers on IC circuit blocks and PMA sections.
• Collaborate with technical team leads on circuit design and SERDES architectures.
• Work with global teams across multiple time zones to meet project schedules.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and attributes.

• Minimum 5 years of CMOS design experience; experience in CMOS SERDES or high-speed I/O IC design preferred.
• Strong understanding of jitter and signal equalization techniques.
• Design experience with SERDES circuit blocks such as driver, receiver, serializer, deserializer, phase interpolator, low-jitter PLL, high-speed clock distribution, bias and bandgap, and voltage regulators.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for circuit simulation, layout, and physical verification.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analog aptitude, clear communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Nice-to-have: Cadence tool experience, design experience >10 Gbps, experience in <16nm technologies, and lab test/silicon evaluation experience.

Education Requirements

BEng, MEng, or PhD (or equivalent practical experience).
