Lead BT/BLE RF Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Validate and characterize Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BT/BLE) radio performance for next-generation connectivity SoCs. The role covers end-to-end RF validation including test development, automation, debugging, system-level testing, and regulatory qualification.

Work cross-functionally with RFIC, firmware, board, and system teams to ensure product releases meet Bluetooth SIG and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RF characterization, automated test development, debugging, system-level validation, and supporting compliance/certification activities.

• Perform RF validation and characterization of BT/BLE transceivers (output power, sensitivity, PER/BER, ACR, blocking, spectrum mask, EVM).
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and scalable validation frameworks for high-volume regression.
• Execute over-the-air (OTA) and conducted testing; validate performance in real-world coexistence scenarios (Wi‑Fi, LTE, etc.).
• Analyze RF issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with RFIC, firmware/software, and system/board teams to resolve them.
• Support antenna tuning, integration validation, and system-level performance optimization.
• Execute Bluetooth SIG qualification tests and support regulatory certifications (e.g., FCC, CE, TELEC).
• Generate validation reports, release summaries, and debug documentation; maintain audit-ready test records.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience expected for the role, followed by useful but optional qualifications.

• Must have: Demonstrated experience in RF validation/characterization for Bluetooth/BLE radios and transceivers.
• Must have: Practical experience with RF measurement equipment and methodologies (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector signal analyzers, conducted/OTA test setups).
• Must have: Test development and automation experience — writing and maintaining automated test scripts and using automated test platforms.
• Must have: Experience debugging RF/firmware/system-level issues and working cross-functionally with design teams.
• Must have: Familiarity with Bluetooth SIG qualification requirements and regulatory certification processes.
• Nice to have: Experience with antenna tuning and RF front-end integration, and validation in coexistence environments.
• Nice to have: Experience building scalable validation frameworks for high-volume regression and release validation.
