Lead Application Engineer – Custom IC Front-End (Analog Simulation & AI-Enabled Flows)
Role Summary
Provide expert technical support and customer enablement for Cadence custom IC front-end solutions with a strong focus on analog simulation and the evaluation and adoption of AI-assisted design and debug flows. Work directly with semiconductor customers, R&D, sales, and product teams to validate workflows and resolve complex technical issues.

Senior — around 5–10 years of industry experience in IC design or EDA tools.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities center on customer-facing technical support, demonstrations, training, and field validation of analog and AI-enabled workflows.
- Provide expert-level technical support for custom IC front-end solutions, including analog simulation using Spectre, Explorer, and Assembler.
- Conduct product demonstrations, customer evaluations, and technical training sessions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Track, document, prioritize, and drive resolution of customer technical issues to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Lead technical discovery meetings and perform onsite debugging and problem-resolution sessions with customers.
- Identify opportunities where AI-assisted workflows can improve setup, analysis, debug, and design efficiency.
- Collaborate with AE peers, R&D, sales, and product marketing on technology adoption and strategic engagements.
- Contribute structured feedback to engineering and product teams on customer requirements and product improvements.

Must-have: Around 5–10 years industry experience in IC design or EDA tools; strong experience in analog IC design at mature and/or advanced technology nodes; hands-on experience with SPICE simulation tools; strong experience working in a Linux/Unix environment; good understanding of front-end design flow; fluency in Italian and English; ability to travel to customer sites for onsite engagements.

Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal and RF simulation expertise; exposure to scripting, automation, or data-driven workflows; background in CAD/EDA support; strong problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills; experience applying AI or automation to engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electronic Engineering (specified).
