Role Summary

Perform physical layout of custom mixed-signal and analog IC blocks for power-management products. Work within the layout team in San Jose to ensure layouts meet electrical performance, manufacturability, and reliability targets.

The role requires close collaboration with circuit designers, verification engineers, and remote design teams to deliver tapeout-ready layouts on project schedules.

Experience Level

Entry-level; typically requires 1+ years of relevant analog & mixed-signal IC layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include producing and verifying analog/mixed-signal layouts and coordinating with design and verification teams.

• Perform layout of custom mixed-signal and analog circuit blocks.
• Collaborate with circuit designers to meet electrical, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Run layout verification checks including DRC, LVS, and ERC and address violations.
• Support off-site and international design teams and coordinate deliverables across locations.
• Track assigned design tasks to meet project schedules and deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; brief notes on desirable attributes.

• Minimum ~1 year experience in analog & mixed-signal IC layout design.
• Solid understanding of design rules, device matching, signal shielding, and isolation techniques.
• Familiarity with CMOS and BiCMOS technologies and basic IC design principles.
• Experience with CAD flows and layout tools for analog/mixed-signal design.
• Experience with layout verification (DRC, LVS, ERC) and addressing violations.
• Experience with data management tools in a Unix environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote or international teams.

Education Requirements

AA degree in Engineering acceptable; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred. Program certificate in Advanced IC Mask Layout Design is also acceptable.
