Job Title

Layout Engineer, DPG IP DEV Layout

Role Summary

Join Micron's DPG‑IPDEV layout team in Bengaluru to create analog, mixed‑signal and custom digital layouts for IPs used in DRAM products. The role focuses on block‑level layout implementation, verification, and integration for high‑performance memory applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 3 to 5 years of relevant analog/custom layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical layout work, verification, and collaboration across global teams.

  • Design and develop critical analog, mixed‑signal and custom digital blocks and support full‑chip integration.
  • Perform physical verification tasks (LVS/DRC/antenna checks), quality checks and produce supporting documentation.
  • Deliver block‑level layouts on schedule with acceptable quality metrics.
  • Estimate area/time, plan tasks, and manage execution across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Communicate effectively with global engineering teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 3–5 years' experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes (Planar, FinFET).
  • Proven expertise with Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS.
  • Hands‑on experience creating layouts for critical blocks such as temperature sensors, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, LDOs, bandgaps, reference generators, charge pumps, current mirrors, comparators and differential amplifiers.
  • Strong understanding of analog layout fundamentals (matching, electromigration, latch‑up, coupling/crosstalk, IR‑drop, device parasitics).
  • Ability to assess layout effects on speed, capacitance, power and area and implement high‑quality layouts within design constraints.
  • Familiarity with design hierarchy and architectures used in memory designs.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills in physical verification and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive in evaluating and using AI‑related tools to improve day‑to‑day work.

Nice‑to‑have:

  • Experience supporting multiple tape‑outs.

Education Requirements

BE or MTech in Electronics / VLSI Engineering.
