Job Title

Layout Engineer, DPG IP DEV Layout

Role Summary

Work on layout design for analog and mixed-signal IPs used in Micron DRAM products, including blocks for AI/HPC and High Bandwidth Memory. The role sits on the DPG-IPDEV team in Bengaluru and involves cross-functional collaboration with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality block layouts.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3–5 years of experience in analog/custom layout design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include block-level layout development, verification, and timely delivery.

  • Design and develop analog, mixed-signal and custom digital blocks; support full-chip integration.
  • Perform layout verification (LVS/DRC/Antenna), quality checks, and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Deliver block-level layouts on schedule with acceptable quality.
  • Plan and estimate area/time, schedule tasks, and execute across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with global engineering teams and contribute to project-management activities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: 3–5 years' experience in analog/custom layout design across advanced CMOS nodes (Planar, FinFET).
  • Must-have: Proficiency with Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience creating layouts for critical analog blocks (examples: PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, Bandgap, reference generators, charge pump, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers, temperature sensors).
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of analog layout fundamentals (matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop, device parasitics) and how layout affects speed, capacitance, power, and area.
  • Must-have: Ability to understand design constraints, hierarchy, and memory-design architectures; strong problem-solving skills in physical verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Multiple tape-out experience; proactive use of AI-related tools in daily tasks.

Education Requirements

BE or MTech in Electronic or VLSI Engineering.
