Job Title

Layout Engineer

Role Summary

Perform physical layout for custom mixed-signal and analog integrated circuit blocks. Work with circuit designers and cross-site teams to produce manufacturable layouts that meet performance, reliability, and schedule targets.

Experience Level

Entry-level — the role expects approximately 1+ years of relevant Analog & Mixed-Signal IC layout experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for layout implementation, verification, and delivery of analog/mixed-signal blocks within project timelines.

  • Perform physical layout of custom mixed-signal and analog circuit blocks.
  • Collaborate closely with circuit designers to ensure layouts meet quality, performance, and reliability requirements.
  • Execute layout verification checks, including DRC, LVS, and ERC.
  • Maintain CAD flows and manage design data in a Unix environment.
  • Support off-site and international design/layout teams and coordinate across time zones.
  • Track assigned tasks to meet project schedules and deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools experience, and professional competencies.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in analog & mixed-signal IC layout design.
  • Understanding of design rules, device matching, signal shielding, and isolation techniques.
  • Familiarity with CMOS and BiCMOS technologies and general IC design principles.
  • Experience with CAD flows and layout tools used for analog/mixed-signal design.
  • Experience running or supporting layout verification flows (DRC, LVS, ERC).
  • Experience with data management tools in a Unix environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective collaborator in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments.

Education Requirements

AA degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or a related field, or a program certificate in Advanced IC Mask Layout Design.
