Layout Engineer

Role Summary

Perform physical layout of analog and mixed-signal IC blocks as part of the IC design group. Work with circuit designers and verification teams to deliver layouts that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. Onsite position based in the Kirkland, WA office.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early Career — requires approximately 1+ years of experience in analog & mixed-signal IC layout design.

Responsibilities

Core day-to-day responsibilities include layout implementation, verification, and coordination with design teams.

• Create layouts for custom mixed-signal and analog circuit blocks.
• Collaborate with circuit designers to ensure layouts meet electrical, performance, and reliability targets.
• Perform layout verification including DRC, LVS and ERC checks.
• Support and coordinate with off-site design and layout teams, including teams outside the USA.
• Track assigned design tasks to meet project schedules and deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in analog & mixed-signal IC layout design.
• Knowledge of design rules, device matching, signal shielding and isolation techniques.
• Familiarity with CMOS and BiCMOS technologies and general IC design principles.
• Experience with CAD flows and layout tools used for analog/mixed-signal design.
• Experience with data management tools in a Unix environment.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Education Requirements

AA degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or related field, or a program certificate in Advanced IC Mask Layout Design. The posting accepts formal degrees or specialized layout certificate training.
