Role Summary

Responsible for creating and delivering analog/mixed-signal IC layouts with attention to manufacturability, performance, and verification. Works within the physical design team to translate circuit designs into layout blocks and to support integration and handoff across multi-site teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career — approximately 2+ years of layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include manual layout, verification, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Create and implement high-quality layouts for analog/mixed-signal blocks (examples: temperature sensor, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, reference generators, charge pump, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers).
• Use Cadence VXL and manual routing tools for floorplanning and routing.
• Run and debug LVS, DRC, and other layout verification issues; resolve layout-related failures.
• Optimize layouts for matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop, parasitics, speed, capacitance, power, and area.
• Execute ECO, LCO, and DFM tasks and support integration and handoff to downstream teams.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate work in a cross-functional, multi-site environment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience.

• About 2+ years of IC layout experience with analog/mixed-signal blocks.
• Practical experience with Cadence VXL.
• Strong LVS, DRC, and layout debug/problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience creating layouts for analog blocks and applying layout constraints.
• Understanding of analog layout fundamentals (matching, parasitics, EM, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop).
• Skills in floorplanning, manual routing, and delivering manufacturable layouts.
• Experience executing ECO/LCO and DFM activities.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to work across sites.
