Job Title
Layout Designer
Role Summary
Responsible for implementing high-quality analog/mixed-signal IC layouts for blocks such as temperature sensors, PLLs, ADCs/DACs, LDOs, bandgaps, comparators and amplifiers. Work within a multi-site design team to meet design rules, manufacturability and performance targets.
Experience Level
Entry-level β typically 2+ years of layout experience (as stated in the posting).
Responsibilities
Deliver detailed layouts and support verification and integration tasks across the design cycle.
- Create and optimize manual layouts and floorplans for analog/mixed-signal blocks.
- Perform LVS, DRC debugging and resolve layout issues to meet foundry rules.
- Execute ECO, LCO and DFM tasks and implement design changes.
- Manual routing and layout planning to meet performance, area and power goals.
- Analyze and mitigate layout-related effects: matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop and parasitics.
- Evaluate layout impact on circuit speed, capacitance, power and area.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-site teams and communicate technical status clearly.
- Leverage automation and AI-assisted tools to improve layout productivity where applicable.
Requirements
Core qualifications and skills required for the role.
- Minimum ~2 years of IC layout experience focused on analog/mixed-signal blocks.
- Hands-on experience with Cadence VXL.
- Proven ability to debug LVS, DRC and layout issues.
- Experience laying out blocks such as PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, charge pump, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers and temperature sensors.
- Strong understanding of analog layout fundamentals: matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop and parasitics.
- Skills in floorplanning, manual routing and executing ECO/LCO/DFM flows.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with automation and AI tooling applied to layout workflows.
