Layout Design Engineer
Role Summary
The Layout Design Engineer performs cell- and chip-level schematic entry, physical layout, and verification to prepare integrated circuits for tapeout. The role works with design engineers and CAD teams on analog/RF and mixed-signal processes including CMOS, SOI, SiGe, and BiCMOS.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include schematic entry, physical implementation, verification, and tapeout support.
- Perform cell- and chip-level schematic entry and IC layout.
- Run layout verification including LVS, DRC, and ERC; prepare fixes as needed.
- Chip floorplanning, I/O and ESD routing, and tapeout preparation and documentation support.
- Collaborate with design engineers to implement layouts for CMOS, SOI, SiGe, and BiCMOS technologies.
- Use revision control systems to manage design databases and deliverables.
- Create and maintain design and tapeout documentation.
- Support CAD and design teams with PDK updates and scripting where applicable.

Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor technology and layout verification (DRC, LVS); practical experience with Cadence Virtuoso-based layout flows and IC design methodologies.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; or equivalent practical experience in IC layout and verification.
