Role Summary
Perform mixed-signal IP verification to ensure designs meet functional, timing, power, and performance targets. Work within the Central Engineering Group with cross-functional teams to define verification strategies, implement test environments, reproduce and debug presilicon issues, and document results.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have multiple years of IP verification experience (see Education Requirements for degree-specific minimums).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive mixed-signal IP verification plans and test strategies.
- Create and maintain testbenches and verification environments using methodologies such as UVM/OVM.
- Perform analog behavioral modeling to validate functionality, timing, and power objectives.
- Identify, reproduce, and debug presilicon bugs and root causes; drive corrective actions.
- Analyze coverage metrics and propose improvements to achieve verification completeness.
- Collaborate with design, layout, and system teams to refine verification approaches and optimize designs.
- Document test plans, methodologies, and results; lead technical reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain and improve verification infrastructure and methodologies to support evolving IP requirements.
Requirements
Key technical and practical requirements. Degree details are summarized under Education Requirements below.
Must-have:
- 3+ years experience with SystemVerilog/Verilog and advanced verification methodologies (UVM/OVM).
- Experience with industry EDA simulators and verification tools (examples: Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium/JasperGold, Mentor Questa).
- Analog behavioral modeling experience and verification of high-speed I/O IP or low-power validation.
- Strong debugging skills in both analog and digital domains.
- Experience with PCIe and/or UCIe protocols.
- Experience in test planning, test environment development, and developing verification content.
Nice-to-have:
