Laptop SoC Power & Thermal Management Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the architecture and delivery of laptop SoC power, thermal and limits management solutions for Windows-on-Arm laptops. Collaborate with OEMs and internal hardware, firmware and software teams to resolve SOC and platform-level power and thermal challenges and ensure timely delivery of power-efficient laptop products.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 15+ years of relevant SoC and platform architecture and design experience, with proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the role include defining architecture, driving implementation, and resolving complex platform issues across the development lifecycle.
- Define laptop SoC power, thermal and limits management architecture and specifications.
- Drive cross-functional design and implementation with hardware, firmware, OS and OEM teams.
- Identify, prioritize and resolve SOC and platform-level power and thermal issues throughout development and validation.
- Ensure solutions meet Windows-on-Arm requirements and relevant industry standards (e.g., ACPI, BSA).
- Perform use-case and performance analysis to optimize power states and thermal response.
- Advise on integration with platform components: EC, TPM, PCIe, NVMe, USB, HDMI/DP, Ethernet and OOB management.
- Collaborate with OEMs on system-level validation, troubleshooting and delivery to schedule.

Must-have: 3+ years architecting and delivering Windows-on-Arm laptop power and thermal solutions.

Must-have: Strong leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Must-have: Experience with power/thermal management concepts, power states and standards such as ACPI.

Must-have: Knowledge of laptop I/O and platform interfaces (PCIe, NVMe, USB, HDMI/DP, Ethernet), EC, TPM and OOB management.

Nice-to-have: Experience with x86 laptop SoC/system architecture.
