Job Title

Lab Technician

Role Summary

Maintain operations of the Intrinsic Reliability laboratory in Nijmegen. Responsible for tool maintenance and calibration, documentation and safety protocols, inventory and bookings, vendor coordination, and executing scripted wafer prober measurements as instructed.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 1–3 years relevant lab, test, or production experience (semiconductor or reliability experience preferred).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include maintaining lab equipment, ensuring safety and documentation, administering access and reservations, and supporting measurement activities.

  • Maintain and calibrate lab tools; log service history and track maintenance schedules.
  • Create and update safety protocols, tool manuals, and quick-start guides under version control.
  • Administer tool reservations, user access, and qualifications.
  • Manage inventory: raise and track purchase requests, receive and verify deliveries.
  • Ensure lab audit-readiness: ESD checks, housekeeping, labeling and signage.
  • Coordinate vendors and Facilities/IT/EHS for repairs, utilities, and inspections.
  • Run scripted IV/CV/parametric measurements on wafer probers as instructed; log data and anomalies.
  • Train users on safety protocols and reservation procedures.
  • Capture and escalate issues, close actions promptly, and report basic KPIs; drive small continuous improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 1–3 years experience in laboratory, test, or production environments; semiconductor or reliability experience is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with source-measure units (SMUs)/parametric analyzers and probe stations/wafer probers.
  • Able to read wiring/connection diagrams and follow safety protocols precisely.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams).
  • Knowledge of ESD practices and cleanroom etiquette.
  • Physically able to perform hands-on work; occasional lifting up to ~15–20 kg and occasional off-hours/on-call work as required.

Nice-to-have: experience with wafer-level reliability/IR tests and burn-in fixtures; basic scripting (Python/LabVIEW) and instrument I/O (GPIB/VISA); ESD/BHV certifications.

Education Requirements

MBO or HBO (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience. Certifications mentioned in the posting include ESD and BHV.
