Role Summary

The Junior Product Engineer (Data Science) participates in validation, characterization and industrialization of new integrated circuits for the In-Vehicle Networking product line. The role supports time-to-market, yield improvement and mass-production ramp-up by analyzing test data, defining limits, and coordinating cross-functional launch activities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include chip characterization, production support, automation, and cross-functional coordination.

• Contribute to productization strategy, characterization plans, qualification plans and volume ramp-up planning.
• Execute and report on ESD, latch-up, temperature characterization and life-test analyses; perform Shmoo and other product performance evaluations.
• Set and align datasheet limits and test limits to ensure operational performance and yield stability.
• Prepare products for mass production, coordinate safe launch and analyze first-production results; write Industrial Producibility Reports.
• Develop and implement automated product-engineering workflows using scripting, AI and other automation tools to improve speed and consistency.
• Collaborate with test engineering, design, quality, manufacturing, failure analysis, product marketing and customer-complaint teams.
• Participate in continuous-improvement workgroups to increase quality and efficiency.

• Must-have: Good English communication and reporting skills; ability to influence and operate independently.
• Must-have: Interest in or experience with IC development, test/product engineering, semiconductor manufacturing or quality engineering.
• Must-have: Familiarity with characterization concepts (ESD, latch-up, temperature) and basic failure-analysis thinking.
• Must-have: Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB) or demonstrable ability to develop automation and AI-assisted workflows.
• Must-have: Willingness to travel to NXP locations worldwide.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with test infrastructure, test-software optimization, Shmoo analysis, or large-volume production ramp-up.

Education Requirements

MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Data Science / IT, or a closely related technical field. Preferably with interest or experience in IC development, test & product engineering, IC manufacturing engineering or semiconductor quality engineering.
