Job Title
Junior Mixed-Signal Memory Circuit Designer
Role Summary
Junior-level engineering role on a memory/analog mixed-signal design team. The incumbent will contribute to schematic-level design, simulation, and integration of memory peripherals and analog blocks, and will collaborate with layout, verification, and test teams to support silicon bring-up.
Work focuses on SRAM peripherals, sense amplifiers, OTP/NVM blocks, pre/post-layout simulation, and basic silicon debug and test analysis.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Junior). Suitable for recent graduates or engineers with limited professional experience in memory or mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include design, simulation, and integration tasks for memory-related mixed-signal circuits.
- Contribute to schematic-level design of memory circuits (SRAM peripherals, sense amps, OTP/NVM blocks).
- Perform circuit simulations (DC, AC, transient, Monte Carlo) and evaluate results for matching, noise, and variability.
- Support pre- and post-layout simulations and basic DRC/LVS checks.
- Collaborate with layout engineers on matching, symmetry, spacing, and layout impact on performance.
- Assist with integration of memory macros into SoCs and participate in silicon bring-up and debug.
- Analyze test data (margins, retention, functionality) and support memory test and redundancy verification.
- Maintain clear documentation, design notes, and simulation reports.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional collaboration with verification, layout, and test teams.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and practical abilities required for the role; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have:
- Solid basic understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals.
- Familiarity with SRAM concepts (read/write operations, basic margins) and OTP/NVM principles.
- Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools (examples: Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE).
- Basic knowledge of CMOS devices and semiconductor process behavior.
- Ability to evaluate simulation results and understand matching, noise, and variability impacts.
- Willingness to work with layout, verification, and test teams and to support silicon bring-up.
Nice-to-have:
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Perl, TCL, or shell) for simulation automation or data analysis.
- Familiarity with Linux-based EDA environments.
- Interest in reliability, yield, or silicon debug.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field is required. University projects or internships involving memory circuits or analog/mixed-signal IC design are listed as preferred experience.
