Job Title

Junior Embedded Crypto Software Developer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain secure embedded cryptographic libraries used across multiple product domains (payment, identification, mobile, IoT, automotive, edge). Work on implementations protected against physical and logical attacks and contribute to a complete security subsystem.

The role sits in an international development team and interacts with innovation, architecture, hardware and support teams to deliver production-ready crypto software.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Typical profile: early-career engineers; experience guidance referenced in the posting indicates ~3–5 years relevant experience in addition to formal education.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement cryptographic algorithms (including post-quantum crypto) from specifications: coding, testing, code review and release.
  • Develop embedded software in C and Assembly for ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V platforms.
  • Collaborate with innovation, architecture and hardware teams to integrate algorithms into security subsystems.
  • Design and implement countermeasures against side-channel and fault attacks; support security-related certification work.
  • Participate in peer reviews, verification and validation of secure implementations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Experience with cryptographic algorithm implementation and testing (symmetric, asymmetric, hashing and post-quantum concepts).
  • Embedded software development experience in C and Assembly.
  • Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M and/or RISC-V microcontroller platforms.
  • Knowledge of hardware/software countermeasures for side-channel analysis (SCA) and fault attacks (FA).
  • Ability to work reliably on security-sensitive tasks and follow processes required for certification.
  • Good teamwork, communication skills and attention to detail in secure development processes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Rust.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus ~3–5 years relevant experience, or a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology or Cryptography.
