Junior Digital Design Engineer - MCU
Role Summary
Join a new MCU digital design team in Catania focused on developing microcontroller subsystems for AI-at-the-edge products. The role involves RTL development, verification, and collaboration with analog, mixed-signal, and software teams to deliver integrated SoC features.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Junior). Typical experience: 0–3 years.
Responsibilities
Design and verify digital sub-circuits for SoC/MCU projects and support integration through to silicon.
- Write RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for digital sub-circuits and perform synthesis-ready coding.
- Perform static timing analysis (STA), power analysis, and participate in timing closure activities.
- Apply formal verification and simulation-based verification methods; produce and execute test plans.
- Implement and verify design-for-testability (DFT) features and support silicon bring-up and post-silicon debug.
- Collaborate with analog, mixed-signal, and software teams to define interfaces and optimize system-level performance.
- Follow team design methodologies, produce design documentation, and participate in design reviews.
- Stay current with digital IC design practices and EDA tool flows used by the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience relevant to RTL digital design and verification.
- Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design and verification.
- Familiar with industry-standard EDA flows for RTL coding, synthesis, and STA.
- Experience with formal verification techniques and simulation tools.
- Understanding of digital circuit design, timing analysis, power integrity, and low-power design techniques.
- Experience or familiarity with DFT implementation and debugging.
- Team-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
- Nice-to-have: basic knowledge of UVM.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
