Junior Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Entry-level digital design engineer on the RF-SoC Solutions team in Nijmegen. Support RTL development, simulation, synthesis, and integration activities for RF and mixed-signal SoC products used in automotive and industrial applications.
Work with architects, verification, and physical design teams under the guidance of experienced engineers to deliver validated digital hardware.
Experience Level
Entry-level - suitable for new college graduates or candidates with academic/internship experience in digital design. No specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Support RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, and basic timing analysis.
- Help identify, debug, and resolve design issues throughout the development cycle.
- Collaborate with verification, architecture, and physical design teams to understand requirements and support project execution.
- Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and reports summarizing design activities and results.
- Contribute to design quality, process improvements, and continuous learning.
Requirements
Core skills and attributes:
- Academic or project experience in digital design, computer architecture, logic design, or FPGA development.
- Basic knowledge of hardware description languages such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Familiarity with simulation, synthesis, or FPGA tool flows through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn semiconductor design methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams and communicate in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on FPGA development or prior RTL implementation experience.
- Exposure to timing analysis and basic physical design concepts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (or graduating soon) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
