IT Solution Architect - PLM & Master Data
Role Summary
The Enterprise Product team seeks an IT Solution Architect to define architecture, standards, and roadmaps for Siemens Teamcenter PLM and master data. The role partners with business and IT teams to design and deliver scalable PLM solutions that meet complex product, BOM and manufacturing requirements.
Experience Level
Senior — requires over 5 years of experience as an IT Solution Architect focused on PLM solutions.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define PLM strategy, roadmaps, and software standards across Teamcenter solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions to business and manufacturing needs.
- Design and deliver solution designs, mock-ups, and software configurations for Siemens Teamcenter.
- Architect PLM solutions supporting multiple BOM types (e.g., BOI, BOP, BOE) and ensure alignment with enterprise processes.
- Lead data migration, system cutover, and launch activities for large Teamcenter implementations.
- Coordinate with external IT teams to align solution architecture across projects and downstream systems (ERP, MES, integrations, reporting).
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Over 5 years of experience as an IT Solution Architect working with PLM solutions.
- Hands-on experience delivering at least three medium to large Siemens Teamcenter implementations across design, configuration, and deployment phases.
- Strong expertise in Bill of Materials (BOM) concepts, structures, and standard BOM methodologies applied to enterprise PLM use cases.
- Experience with Teamcenter Change Management: change objects, workflows, approvals, and governance, including assessing impacts to downstream systems.
- Proven ability to work closely with business customers to elicit requirements and present solution designs and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Nice-to-have: Teamcenter configuration using BMIDE, Active Workspace, ITK (C/C++), SOA services, and Active Workspace customization.
- Nice-to-have: Experience integrating Teamcenter with ERP systems (e.g., SAP via T4S/T4EA) and with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Cadence, Mentor).
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of semiconductor product lifecycle management (SLCM).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
