IT Software Engineer - Probe Data Collection

Role Summary

Full-stack software developer supporting internal engineering customers responsible for applications used in Micron's probe testing process. Develop, integrate, and maintain software across frontend and backend stacks, and drive CI/CD, monitoring, and scalability improvements.

Works closely with engineering teams and global IT peers to design, deploy, and support reliable systems that reduce outages and improve user experience.

Entry-level (1–2 years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, building, and operating software systems for probe data collection and related workflows.

  • Design, develop, and improve software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Implement frontend and backend components that scale with the company's needs.
  • Integrate proactive monitoring and usage metrics to establish baselines and predict demand.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather feedback and improve user experience.
  • Coordinate with enterprise architecture, security, network, and storage teams to meet corporate standards.
  • Plan and implement availability, contingency, and disaster recovery strategies to minimize service outages.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Education requirement is summarized separately under Education Requirements.

  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (examples: C#, C/C++, Java, Python) and familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, CSS).
  • Experience with Linux systems (preferred) and Windows as secondary platform.
  • Experience with relational databases (MSSQL) and web servers (ASP.Net Core, Apache, Tomcat).
  • Version control with Git and containerization with Docker.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Octopus) and cloud platforms (Azure, OpenShift).
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization, and communication skills; able to work across teams and drive technical direction.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; equivalent practical experience or certifications will be considered. The posting expects approximately 1–2 years of relevant experience.
