IP Verification Engineer
ArmJob Title
IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Arm Security IP team responsible for verification of hardware security IP and embedded processor subsystems. Work includes test planning, testbench and verification-model development, functional sign-off, and productization of security IP such as cryptography, key management, secure boot, and hardware root of trust.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically requires 3+ years of experience in design or verification of IP, embedded compute subsystems, or SoCs.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification artifacts and sign-off for Security IP and related subsystems. Collaborate with design, firmware, and project teams to ensure functionality, coverage, and power/performance targets.
- Define and execute verification plans and test strategies for security IP and subsystems.
- Develop and maintain testbenches and verification environments using UVM, SystemVerilog/Verilog, and C.
- Create verification models and tests; run and analyze regression suites.
- Debug failing tests, identify root causes, and work with design/firmware teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, power, performance, and multi-clock/multi-power-domain scenarios.
- Contribute to verification methodology, tooling, and reuse across the organization.
- Mentor team members and coordinate with project management on schedules and deliverables.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- 3+ years experience in design or verification of complex digital IP, embedded subsystems, or SoCs.
- Strong knowledge of digital hardware and verification: Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, and C.
- Experience verifying security hardware, embedded processor systems, applied cryptography, secure boot, or key management.
- Experience with multi-clock domain designs, AXI/AHB protocols, multi-power domains, and reset architectures.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python, Tcl, or similar) for testbench automation and tooling.
- Low-level programming experience in C and assembler; familiarity with firmware debug and logging.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with ARM-based designs or ARM system architectures.
- Firmware/hardware co-verification experience or formal verification experience.
- Clock-domain crossing verification and power-aware verification experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (as stated in the source posting).
