IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The IP Verification Engineer will develop and execute verification plans and test environments to validate IP functionality, timing, and power. The role works within a cross-functional engineering team (architects, RTL, physical design) to find and resolve pre-silicon issues and improve verification infrastructure.

Entry-level. Typical experience for this role is about 1–2 years of relevant IP verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on planning and executing verification activities and collaborating with design teams to ensure IP quality.
- Develop and execute IP verification plans aligned with microarchitecture specifications.
- Design and maintain testbenches and verification environments (OVM/UVM-based).
- Perform system simulations to validate functionality, timing, and power; identify and debug design issues.
- Analyze failing tests, perform root-cause analysis in pre-silicon environments, and implement fixes.
- Document test plans and lead technical reviews with stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and related tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to succeed in the role.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and practical experience with OVM or UVM verification methodologies.
- Experience with Design for Verification (DFV) techniques and IP test-writing frameworks.
- Proven ability to debug complex pre-silicon issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with simulation-based verification and testbench development.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
- Nice-to-have: scripting experience for automation and familiarity with verification toolchains.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is listed as the minimum. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
