Job Title

IP Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Plan, build, and execute functional verification for graphics IP features to ensure correctness of the final RTL. Work closely with architects, RTL designers, firmware and driver teams to define test plans, implement directed and random tests, and debug issues found during verification.

Position is focused on IP-level ASIC verification for high-performance graphics processors within a multi-site engineering organization.

Experience Level

Senior role. Requires 7+ years of relevant experience in IP/ASIC verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification planning, test development, and cross-team debugging and coverage analysis.

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to define verification scope and requirements.
  • Create detailed test plans covering interactions with hardware, firmware, and driver use cases.
  • Estimate effort for creating tests and modifying test environments.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests and maintain UVM testbenches.
  • Debug test failures, determine root cause, and work with RTL/firmware teams to resolve defects.
  • Monitor functional and code coverage; modify or add tests to meet coverage goals.
  • Automate verification workflows in distributed compute environments and improve simulation efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Proven IP-level ASIC verification experience and strong debugging skills using simulation tools.
  • Experience building and using UVM-based testbenches; strong knowledge of SystemVerilog and Verilog.
  • Proficiency in C and C++; Linux development experience (Windows exposure acceptable).
  • Strong knowledge of AXI and ACE protocols.
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of Ethernet, PCIe, or USB protocol stacks.
  • Experience developing verification frameworks, scripting (shell, Makefile, Perl, Ruby), and automation in distributed environments.

Nice-to-have:

  • Graphics pipeline or multimedia/video codec system experience.
  • Experience with SystemC/TLM and HLS tools or acceleration techniques.
  • Exposure to simulation profiling, efficiency improvement, or compute-acceleration workflows.
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The posting specifies a minimum of 7+ years of experience.
