IP Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and qualify soft IP blocks for SoC integration within Intel's Central Engineering Group. The role focuses on translating architectural specifications into RTL, running IP qualification flows, and supporting IP deployment to customers and SoC teams.

This position is part of a hybrid team based in Bangalore and works across engineering, validation, and integration teams to deliver production-quality IP.

Experience Level

Mid-level; typically 1–2 years of relevant industry experience in soft IP or digital RTL development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, qualification, and support of soft IP:

• Translate high-level architectural specifications into micro-architectural specs and RTL implementations.
• Develop and verify RTL (SystemVerilog) for digital IP blocks.
• Run design and qualification tool flows to meet delivery standards and performance targets.
• Create timing collateral, waivers, and other deliverables required for IP handoff.
• Support SoC teams on integration and deployment of soft IP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and meet project milestones.
• Document design decisions, verification results, and project outcomes.
• Keep current with relevant standards and emerging technologies used in IP development.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and preferred skills.

Must-have:

• Strong digital design fundamentals and practical RTL coding skills using SystemVerilog.
• Experience in soft IP development: micro-architecture design, RTL coding, and IP qualification flows.
• Familiarity with design tools and flows used to qualify IP for delivery.
• Knowledge of functional bus protocols and IEEE test standards (for example, JTAG).
• Practical experience supporting SoC integration or customer deployment.

Nice-to-have:

• Scripting/automation skills (Perl, Python) to improve productivity and tool flows.
• Internship or prior experience at a leading VLSI company.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electronics, VLSI, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is expected. The role typically requires about 1–2 years of relevant industry experience in soft IP development; internship experience in VLSI is preferred.
