Job Title

IP Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and deploy QA rulesets and checks for memory-compiler-generated deliverables. Serve as the liaison between design teams and the central QA organization to intake, validate, and iterate on QA tool suites and collateral checks.

The role supports first- and second-level troubleshooting of collateral issues, defines required QA checks, and works with central teams and vendors to establish and operationalize the capability.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include developing, testing, and operating QA rulesets and supporting teams that consume memory compiler outputs.

  • Design, test, and deploy QA rulesets to analyze and flag collateral quality issues from memory compilers.
  • Act as liaison between design teams and central QA for intake and escalation of issues.
  • Develop memory-compiler-specific checks and maintain test suites for those checks.
  • Provide first- and second-level support to teams using the QA ruleset; escalate to vendors or central teams when needed.
  • Work with central teams to define QA capability, rollout plans, and automation standards.
  • Operate effectively across multiple teams and time zones under time-sensitive conditions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. (Education and degree-level requirements are listed under Education Requirements.)

  • Minimum 2+ years developing automation scripting and test automation.
  • Familiarity with Hard IP deliverables and collateral formats required by vendors such as Synopsys, Siemens, Ansys, or Cadence.
  • Experience working with at least two collateral types (examples: liberty, UPF, RTL, AVM, LEF, OASIS, APACHE).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interact collaboratively with multiple teams.
  • Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Experience developing Python unit tests and automation test frameworks.
  • Experience with IP circuit design (several years) and Siemens Solido crosscheck framework.

Education Requirements

Minimum: MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 7 years of relevant experience, or BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 9 years of relevant experience. Preferred: PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2 years of experience.
