Job Title

IP Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on functional verification of IP logic to ensure correctness, performance, and reliability prior to silicon. Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to validate complex microarchitectural features and improve verification infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typical experience range: 3–7 years). Role expects proven hands-on verification experience with IP and RTL.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification activities for IP blocks and supporting cross-team validation.

  • Develop and execute IP verification plans aligned with microarchitecture specifications.
  • Design, build, and maintain testbenches and verification environments for high coverage.
  • Define, implement, and run system simulation models to analyze functionality, power, and timing.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug presilicon issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams to resolve functional issues.
  • Document test plans and lead technical verification reviews with design teams.
  • Maintain and improve verification infrastructure and methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful performance in this role.

  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and RTL design.
  • Hands-on experience creating verification test environments and implementing test plans.
  • Strong debugging skills and IP microarchitecture validation experience.
  • Experience with simulation-based verification and presilicon debug flows.
  • Solid problem-solving skills for complex technical issues.
  • Preferred: experience with advanced verification methodologies, verification tools, and cross-functional team collaboration; effective technical communication.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BS) or equivalent prolonged course of study in a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience. Intel specifies experience maps: 6+ years with a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years with a Master's, or 2+ years with a PhD. "Equivalent experience" is explicitly accepted.
